NOT SINCE Severus Snape has Joe Public got someone so wrong. Poor Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Imagine taking knocks from the press about cutting off your dad when you were just protecting the children from monsters. A true Royal Protector.
But Prince Harry is so right when he says misinformation is, like, really bad and transparency is, like, really great. So for clarity, the story so far:
Meghan got wind of an allegation about her dad in 2019. She subsequently built a Time Machine and went back to 2018 to create a new story about his tasteless courting of publicity (which she abhors).
Having travelled back to her own timeline, she cleverly put us all off the scent by throwing shade at her in-laws. Which worked a treat.
Then she waited on the investigation to unfold. Seven-and-a-half years would test most people’s patience, but then Meghan isn’t most people.
Meghan sensed the allegations were absolutely true, from a letter sent by an ex-wife. The one who left her own children with the same man in 1975. Us mortals might have to wait for a trial. Not Meghan.
Harry seems out of the loop. He’s been banging on about feeling bad for the father/daughter estrangement. She’s maybe erased some of his memories. It’s probably for his own good.
A Superhero, a princess, a flower sprinkler, an actress and a Masterchef? You couldn’t make her up. Maybe she should be the next Bond.
